Darren McMullen calls PEOPLE for PEPSI style preparation

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Pepsi has launched its new-look logo and packaging in the first major update since the logo was created during World War II.

The soft drink giant has also unveiled – in titanic proportion – their new faces, MTV’s Darren McMullen and sassy new gal, Erin McNaught.

“Darren was flying back from LA especially for the Pepsi shoot and rang me from the airport totally pumped but needed some SOS hair attention. He wanted to be trimmed and ready for the Execs the next day so we made arrangements and met clandestinely at the salon after dark!” laughs Hamish.

Darren and Erin can be spotted on television, in magazines and on billboards nationally. You can also follow the Pepsi’s Twitter or Facebook pages for a chance to win part of the Hit Refresh to Win $25,000.

“Darren and Ruby [Rose] have both been loyal clients of PEOPLE’s for years now and so we were happy to help a friend in a time of need! We’re so happy to see Daz doing so well, here and in the US, where he’s working on some exciting new ventures.” says Hamish.

Stay tuned for updates on our Australian-Scot’s progress in Tinsletown!

PEOPLE Hairdressing Surry Hills

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Following on from the success of Hamish Glianos’ Potts Point location, PEOPLE Surry Hills is part of the latest crop of standout salons to hit Sydney’s city fringe.

Designed by Daniel Boddam-Whetham , the salon has both an urban and eco aesthetic and is imbued with the same creative bent that Glianos’ Potts Point salon is renowned for. Raw materials, fine finishes and engineered lighting and sound combine with seven metre high ceilings that flood the salon with natural light and create a gallery-like feel. Promising to be a part of the local creative scene and not just sit amongst it, PEOPLE Surry Hills will also function as a gallery space where local and international artist, musicians and designers will be able to showcase their work.
“A huge feature wall makes for the ultimate blank canvas and we will actively and regularly promote new exhibits and concepts through public openings. PEOPLE want to create a creative forum that everyone can be part of,” said Glianos.

“Surry Hills is a known creative nucleus and this is why PEOPLE want to be here,” said Glianos.

Located in Surry Hills’ newest complex, PEOPLE Surry Hills is in illustrious company, counting Thomas Dux, The Winery by Gazebo, Sam the Butcher and Via Alley as neighbours.
